Das Duo „Seiler und Speer“ besteht aus dem Komiker und Schauspieler Christopher Seiler und dem Filmemacher Bernhard Speer. Charakteristisch für ihre Songs sind lebensnahe Texte, die verschiedene Alltagssituationen karikieren. Begonnen hat die Zusammenarbeit beider Künstler vor einem Jahr, als die Schichtwechsel-Reihe von Christopher Seiler ins Leben gerufen wurde. Hierbei agierte Bernhard Speer bereits als Produzent und Regisseur.
Christopher Seiler, seines Zeichens Komiker, spielte damals seine ersten kabarettistischen Vorstellungen und wollte diese mit Musik untermalen. „I hob wem braucht, dea Gitarre spün kau und da Bernhard hod des so scheh gmocht dass i ma denkt hob, mia haun sie auf a Packl weis eh irgendwo wuascht is.“ Aus dieser Idee entstand später die Formation „Seiler und Speer“. Ernst genommen haben die beiden Künstler ihre Musik anfangs nicht. Christopher Seiler: „I nimm grundsätzlich nie wos ernst. I nimm mi nedamoi söwa ernst, do samma de boa Liada a wuascht!“ Dennoch – oder gerade deswegen – machten die ersten Musikstücke Spaß.
Die Single „Ham Kummst“ glänzte mit österreichischem Schmäh und der ein oder andere Hörer fand sich selbst darin wieder. Mittlerweile wurde aus dem Spaßprojekt aber musikalischer Ernst. Dies hört man auch in den Stücken und so glänzt ihr Debütalbum mit einem Mix aus bitterböser Romantik, Alltagskomik und Gassenhauern.
